Light at street level — the city as a study in contrast and motion.

New York

Notes on shooting in New York.

New York is relentless with its light — the way glass towers redirect sunlight into unexpected alleys at noon, the hard shadows of the grid, the warm glow that fills the avenues in the hour before sunset. I find I shoot faster here than anywhere else, as if the city’s pace gets into the shutter finger.
